Overall rating Good quality-price relation. The Pfaff expression 3 is great for those who start sewing but would like to have a wider range of stitches and features, including satin stitches and one capital letters alphabet. The memory has a limit of 30 steps, but as starting computerized sew machine is a good value. It comes with 9 feet, including standard, zipper, buttonhole, overcasting, blindhem, satin stitch, button sewing, 1/4 quilting and free-motion/darning. It is easy to use for those used to computers and electronical devices. Used to mechanical sew machines it took me some time to bring up the bobbin thread but once you get used to it is easy. For the price it costs the quality of stitching is good as well as the material of which is made. Only be aware that there is no clear information on extending it by using other feet (beading, bias, ruffler-pleater, cording, ...). Pfaff USA web site list some feet which may be purchased to use with this machine but there is no reference in other Pfaff country web sites and it is not so easy to buy them outside USA until i found this website. Also it seems that it has been discontinued, even it is still on sale in some countries. (Posted on 9/12/09)

Overall rating This machine lets you raise/lower the needle with a tap of a button, which is a feature I also love on the Vikings and Berninas. It also has a setting; which stops needle down and automatic presser foot up. This is great for sewing around curves and also for easing two layers. (sleeves, and princess seams) You can even set how high you want the presser foot to lift.
There is even a setting to automatically raise the presser foot when you come to the end of a seam so you can remove your work; then it lowers when you start sewing again. Pretty cool!
This is a TOL sewing machine that performs well. I have owned many brands, and this one rates right up there with the best. I love the decorative stitches, and the dual feed is really nice. I used to have a 1475, but never really bonded with it. The expression 3.0 has all the good features of that machine, plus more. (Posted on 6/23/09) -
