Pfaff Expression 3.0 is versatile as it can be used with any kind of fabric and for any kind of project. It offers 153 different stitch programs to choose from on the graphic display which shows the actual stitch size plus important information. It also gives you an option of creating 10 of your own letter, number cominations using built in memory function.
What gives the finished product a smooth and even sew is the machines integrated dual feed system. This feeds the fabric in from the top and bottom simultaneously; this way no fabric will ever be able to slip away.
The dual lights makes the workspace well lit, making your sewing experience a comfortable one. For the perfect topstitch and an even seam, it offers 37 needle locations. With the mirror stitch option, you can create a reflective or flip version of any stitch. Another great feature is that the start and end seam is secured automatically with the tie off option. Customer rating: This machine lets you raise/lower the needle with a tap of a button, which is a feature I also love on the Vikings and Berninas. It also has a setting; which stops needle down and automatic presser foot up. This is great for sewing around curves and also for easing two layers. (sleeves, and princess seams) You can even set how high you want the presser foot to lift.
There is even a setting to automatically raise the presser foot when you come to the end of a seam so you can remove your work; then it lowers when you start sewing again. Pretty cool!
This is a TOL sewing machine that performs well. I have owned many brands, and this one rates right up there with the best. I love the decorative stitches, and the dual feed is really nice. I used to have a 1475, but never really bonded with it. The expression 3.0 has all the good features of that machine, plus more. (Posted on 6/23/09) -
