Even when several layers are being sewn together, they will not slip. Fine fabrics such as silk and satin feed evenly.

Fabric feeds evenly from
both the top and bottom.

Fine fabrics?
easily done!
Very fine fabrics like silk are evenly fed. No puckering or distortion of the seam and long seams no movement when sewing the entire curtain lengths, makes sewing a pleasure.

Stretch fabrics? absolutely even!
When sewing stretch fabrics and knitwear, the IDT ensures that the fabric is not stretched out of shape.

Several layers? no problem!
Nothing should be allowed to slip when several layers are being sewn. The IDT take care of that.

Perfect seams,
No more fabric slipping!

Heavy fabrics? perfect feed!
The IDT feeds even the heaviest fabrics
perfectly every time .And all stitches are the same length.

Quilting? sheer pleasure!
The IDT is particularly useful when quilting, where a wide variety of fabrics and bulky batting layers need to be stitched. The layers are gripped from the top and the bottom.

Mixed fabrics? why not!
Uneven layers can easily occur when different types of fabric are being stitched together. The IDT ensures that the fabrics are joined together perfectly.

IDT System Exclusively from Pfaff.

The integrated Dual Feed System or IDT System*

Fabric slippage can occur when sewing long seams. Bunching can be a problem when sewing thin fabrics. These effects are not only unprofessional, they can ruin the look and fit of garments and other projects. That’s why, 30 years ago, Pfaff developed an exclusive system that eliminates fabric slippage.

The principle is simple: the fabric is fed from above as well as below. By moving the top and bottom fabric at the same rate, slippage is eliminated. Today, the IDT System can be found in most Pfaff sewing machines.

The longer the seam the greater the possibility of movement.
When sewing long pieces of fabric, such as curtains, the IDT feeds both layers evenly along the entire length. There is no slippage!

Whisper thin fabrics, like silk and chiffon , The IDT ensures perfect fabric fed. No puckered seams or shifted layers.
