The original featherweight bobbin cover may have had two plastic bumps on the underside on the plate that are not needed in this newer version. This is the plastic cover that fits over the spool / bobbin. It slides into place and stops the bobbin from jumping out of its case. Because this is clear plastic it can be easily lost, maybe its best to have a spare in your sewing box..!
